COVID-19 Update 3 APRIL 2020

TILLIGERRY RSL SPORTS CLUB AND TANILBA BAY GOLF CLUBHOUSE TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

As previously advised, and in line with government-imposed restrictions, we have temporarily closed the Tanilba Bay Golf Clubhouse and the Tilligerry RSL Sports Clubhouse.

So, what does this mean for our Club?

FINANCE:

The Board and Management are in constant contact (via email, SMS or phone) and although it is too early to inform you of the impact that this will have on the club, we can assure you that the long term viability of our Club is the priority in the interest of our Staff, Members, Guests and the wider community.

We are closely monitoring and responding appropriately to the situation with Coronavirus (Covid-19) and advice provided by the Australian Government Department of Health, as well as keeping up to date with Government announcements with regards to Financial assistance that small to medium businesses can access during these uncertain times.

To date we have registered our interest:

• In the $250,000 six-month interest free loan offered to Not-For-Profit Organisations by the Federal Government.
• Job Keeper Package for our Staff

Similarly, Clubs have already received Government assistance in the form of:

• Deferral of Gaming Tax which was due for payment of 21 March 2020
• BAS benefits, which the Club will receive the benefit of in April 2020
• Payroll Tax not required to be paid

FINANCIAL INSTITUITION:

• We have been in communication with our Bank to ensure that we can access funds when and if required, in addition to which our bank has deferred all Mortgage and HP repayments for a period of six (6) months.
• We continue to remain in contact with our Bank on a weekly basis for updates

CONTRACTS & SUPPLIERS:

We have been in contact with the Club’s Contractors and Suppliers to ensure that we are not paying for unnecessary items that form a part of our facility on a daily basis and, to be fair, a lot of our regular suppliers have been in contact with the club to do the same. Some of these include but are not limited to:

• Lion Nathan (Tooheys) – the are collecting and providing the club with Credit for unused Kegs
• CUB (Carlton) – they are collecting and providing the club with Credit for unused Kegs
• Coke – they are collecting and providing the club with a Credit for unused Post mix
• FOX Sports on hold with no cost to be incurred by the club for the close down period
• Sky Channel on hold with no cost to be incurred by the club for the close down period
• Energy Supplier has deferred all payments until July 2020
• And the list goes on

So, to our many understanding Suppliers and Contractors we send our thanks as we all work together to overcome COVID 19.

On the upside, the Tanilba Bay Golf course is able to continue trading albeit under strict guidelines as detailed below:

TANILBA BAY GOLF CLUB – COVID 19 UPDATE, 3^RD April 2020

TANILBA BAY COURSE ACCESS:

Tanilba Bay Golf Club is for Members and residents of Port Stephens ONLY, proof of residence will be required should you NOT be a Member.

PROSHOP ENTRY & PAYMENTS:

• Strictly one (1) customer at a time is permitted in the Tanilba Bay Pro Shop. This is clearly marked outside of the Pro Shop so please ensure that you adhere to the requirement.
• Payments are via Pay wave or Eftpos only, we DO NOT accept Cash payments.

SOCIAL DISTANCING IS MANDATORY:

• Two (2) Players per Group only
• Note: There is NO EXCEPTION to this rule until we are advised otherwise, so please do not ask our staff
• One (1) person per cart (this applies to all Golf Carts)
• Note: Only one (1) Golf Bag per Cart is permitted

COVID 19:

Please be aware that Tanilba Golf Course is adhering strictly to the COVID-19 guidelines and your assistance is required.  To that end if more than two (2) persons are seen in a group or two (2) persons are seen in ANY single cart on the Tanilba Bay Golf Course:

• We WILL call the police
• You WILL face disqualification from the Course

We make no apology for the severity of the above message. It is all our responsibility to accept the Federal Government Rules. We will enforce them in an effort to reducing the spread of COVID-19 and to ensure that the Game of Golf continues on our Peninsula.

TEMPORARY RULES:

The Royal & Ancient has announced a series of temporary measures that will enable clubs to reduce any hygiene implications related to complying with the Rules of Golf.

The temporary measures are effective immediately and allow the Rules of Golf, and Model Local Rules to be modified as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

SCORECARDS:

1. Players MUST enter their own hole scores on the scorecard
2. Players must verbally certify their score for each respective hole to their playing partner
3. ONLY the Player needs to sign their Scorecard
4. It is not necessary to physically return a scorecard to the Pro Shop. Please place in the SCORECARD BOX located outside of the Pro Shop

FLAGSTICKS:

Tanilba Bay Golf Club has adopted the following policies:

1. Players are required to leave the flagstick in the hole at all times.
2. Failure to do so will result in TWO (2) Stroke Penalty, by Temporary Local Rule which provides a penalty for such a breach of the Temporary Local Rule.

HOLE:

1. Course staff have positioned a hole liner at a very shallow level so that a ball can easily be extracted without touching the sides. A ball at rest in the hole will be considered to be holed even if it is not entirely below the level of the hole.
2. If a player’s ball is within the length of a scorecard a Player may get verbal approval from their playing partner for a ‘Gimmee’

BUNKERS

Rakes have been removed from the course and the Tanilba Bay Golf Club Committee has chosen to introduce the following Local Rule options:

1. Allow preferred lies in bunkers.
2. Note: Players are asked to smooth the Bunkers using their feet as they exit

PRACTICE FACILITIES:

• Our Practice Green and Practice Fairway are closed until further notice

SAND BUCKETS:

• All sand buckets have been removed

ONGOING:

• In the current environment in which we live changes are being made daily so please be aware the above is subject to change dependant on the Governments decisions. Please keep an eye on our Facebook pages or our website tilligerryrslsports.com.

These are Temporary Measures ONLY in the interest of protecting yourself and loved ones against COVID – 19.
